Flights and arrival

Tirana International Airport (TIA) is Albania’s main gateway, with direct connections from most major European cities, for the majority of our patients the flight is under three hours. On landing, you do not need to arrange anything: a driver meets you in arrivals holding a sign with your name and takes you directly to your hotel. Every transfer of your stay, airport, hotel, clinic and back, is included in your package with a dedicated driver.

Your hotel

Your package includes accommodation at a 5-star hotel, confirmed by your coordinator with your booking details and voucher before you travel. Breakfast is included, and worth taking seriously, since a full breakfast before your procedure helps keep blood sugar stable through a long day. Evening meals are your own arrangement, and alcohol is off the menu in the 72 hours around surgery.

What to pack

  • Button-up or zip-front tops, nothing that pulls over your head after the procedure.
  • Your passport or ID (required for clinic registration) and any medication you take, in original packaging.
  • Comfortable clothes and in-ear headphones for the procedure day.
  • Nothing for aftercare, the kit, lotion, shampoo and neck pillow are provided.

Local facts worth knowing

  • Currency: the Albanian lek (ALL). Cards are widely accepted in central Tirana; a little cash is handy for small purchases.
  • Timezone: CET (UTC+1), the same as most of Central Europe, no jet lag from within Europe.
  • Weather: Mediterranean, hot, dry summers and mild winters. Remember the scalp must avoid direct sun for the first month, whatever the season.
  • Language: Albanian locally; English and Italian are widely understood in the capital, and your coordinator handles anything clinical.

Should I plan sightseeing?

Keep the trip about the treatment. Tirana is a pleasant, walkable capital and an easy place to spend a recovery day, but procedure-week rules apply: rest, no exertion, no direct sun on the scalp, no alcohol. If you want to explore Albania properly, and it rewards it, plan a separate trip once you are through the early recovery window.

Your coordinator confirms every logistical detail in writing before you fly, if anything on this page differs from your plan, your plan wins.
